Continuing along, the first views for Lake Odell come into focus as you climb Lundy Pass around the 3.25 mark. The lake is a nice shade of green, but not especially scenic or photogenic from the trail. After about 1/3 mile of the unstable shale section of trail, you will have the option of continuing up one of a few use trails which climb up the rock, or stopping to catch of view of the Upper Mill Creek Falls.

Beyond the lake the path resumes it climb, reaching Lundy Pass (10,345-ft.) at 3.1 miles. As you approach the pass views open to Odell Lake (10,267-ft.), tucked in a rocky bowl beneath the right (east) side of the trail and surrounded by steep multi-hued cliffs.

The trail continued to the right where there was an interpretive sign (there used to be a sign saying “Lundy Pass” here). The path going straight ahead went to the edges of a large pond. This was where we managed to get gorgeous views of Lundy Canyon as well as the first main waterfall on Mill Creek, which was a three-segmented cascade partially seen over some trees.

Turn left here to retrace your steps along the Coast Path to Lundy Beach at 3. Ignore the path climbing steeply uphill to your left above the beach, but take the left-hand path beyond.

When this brings you back to the path at the start of the walk, turn left and walk back uphill to the car park. Lundy Bay belongs to the National Trust.
